MAIN MEMBER LIST – The business focused, members-only email list for our group is [email protected]. This is called our “Main List” or “Group Business List” and messages on this list concern official group events. Messages may only be sent by event coordinators, administrative volunteers, management committee members, etc. All posts require moderator approval. Members are automatically added to this list.
This is our official list for all CHOSEN group business and announcements about events and activities organized by our group or of specific interest to our members.
All messages are considered private and may not be forwarded unless otherwise noted. Be careful not to forward any personal or contact information of other members.
Topics and other information:
- Meeting announcements and information;
- Enrichment Class notices;
- Field Trip opportunities and other group event announcements;
- Calendar reminders for events;
- Other Catholic homeschool events that are open to our members;
- Newsletters and Membership Directories (and updates).
- Replies go to the original sender. (Please do not “reply all”.)
- Required setting is for individual messages.
- Attachments are delivered with messages.

FAMILY COMMUNITY LIST – The personal focused, sharing website and email list that connects our “family” community of homeschoolers, both past and present, is called the Family List. To send a message, just write a normal e-mail and address it to: [email protected]. This list is for sharing items of interest and support to our homeschooling families. Messages may be sent by all members of this group and all members may participate in the discussions. This is our “Sharing List”; see below for topics, guidelines, etc.
DO NOT FORWARD THESE MESSAGES
If there is an event or announcement that you would like to share, cut and paste only that info and remove all personal information including the email address and contact info of the original sender, unless specifically noted otherwise.
Topics:
- Share tips on curriculum, websites, student contests, events, advice, etc;
- Ideas on family, marriage or parenting issues, home management, etc;
- Ask questions on / discuss these topics, etc;
- Family needs and updates including contact info, prayer requests, and baby news;
- Meal trains for member families with a new baby, having surgery, etc;
- Advertising of our own group’s field trips and other events;
- Events of interest put on by outside groups that are open to the community, e.g., retreats, rallies, Buddy Walk, pro-life rallies, etc.
- For Sale or Want to Buy/Borrow items – please put FS / WTB / FREE / etc in the subject.
- Do not “spam” the list by forwarding messages from other groups, requests for donations / Go Fund Me pages, or political (exceptions below) emails. Donation requests for groups you directly work with are OK once in a while.
- Political items directly related to homeschooling are, of course, on-topic. We also allow pro-life / pro-marriage political announcements as long as they're not too frequent, because that is such a large part of our engagement with the culture.
- Advertising of outside schools and co-ops is limited to once per school year per school/ co-op. (Fundraising is not allowed.) This policy ensures we are supporting the opportunities available in the outside community without overshadowing the efforts our volunteers put forth within our own group.
- No “hot button” topics, and of course no anti-Catholic stuff.
Guidelines and other information:
- When sharing article links, include a brief summary of the topic in your email.
- Keep in mind The 10 Commandments for Email Discussions. In brief: maintain charity, clarity, and calm.
- Keep messages to the topic in the subject line. Send a separate message if you have a second topic to discuss.
- Replies go only to the sender unless you change the recipient. You can choose to whom to reply to at the bottom of each message.
- Preferred setting is for individual messages. You may elect to change your setting to receive these messages in the “Daily Digest” format so that all messages of the day are sent in a single combo message. This causes a delay in delivery of these messages and removes all attachments.
- Members who choose "no messages," post discourteous comments, or otherwise violate list rules will lose their privileges to post until they have corrected the problem.
- Failure to respect the privacy of this message forum will result in removal.
- Moderators may ask members to move discussions off-list.
